ONE OF US.
WORKS LIKE US.
FIGHTS FOR US.
“I’m here to serve the people, not the insiders. If you need me, call me. I’ll meet you, and we’ll fix it together.”
David Smith didn’t grow up in politics—he grew up working.
At just 15 years old, David quit school to help support his family. He worked construction, oilfield jobs, and anything he could to get by. Later, he earned his G.E.D., joined the U.S. Army, and served his country with honor in military intelligence.
After being injured during his service, David didn’t quit. He kept going. He worked his way through college, earned a business degree, and returned home to Oklahoma to raise his family the right way: with faith, hard work, and personal responsibility.
Today, David serves as State Representative for District 18, fighting for rural Oklahoma, working families, and veterans. And he still believes in doing the job the same way he always has: meeting people face-to-face, listening, and getting results.
Fighting for working families. Delivering real results. Standing strong for Oklahoma values.
David Smith is fighting to ease the burden on working families. He’s supporting major tax cuts and pushing back against rising costs driven by inflation.
David backed the toughest anti-illegal immigration law in the country—protecting Oklahoma jobs, enforcing the law, and keeping communities safe.
David believes schools should focus on reading, math, and discipline. With parents, not bureaucrats, in charge of their children’s future.
David is leading efforts to expand access to care in rural Oklahoma, including telehealth and innovative dental programs for children and families.
A veteran himself, David has made it his mission to stand up for those who served. He recently earned Legislator of the Year for his work on behalf of Oklahoma veterans.
From property tax relief after natural disasters to expanding access to local fire boards and community services, David writes and passes laws that directly help the people in his district.
